Hello! My name is Dr. Kelly Goldberg, and I am the instructor of the Honors Introduction to Biological Anthropology course. I am a historical archaeologist by training, and have done most of my research in western Guinea and the eastern United States on African Diaspora sites. My research focuses on transnationalism, identity politics, and political influence on the manifestations of memory and heritage of the transatlantic slave trade. I am currently co-PI on two grants with the NPS, and am always happy to bring on student research assistants!
You can reach me at goldbeke@mailbox.sc.edu. I am happy to schedule meetings via Teams or in my office.
Also, I have recently started co-hosting a podcast series called Hidden Histories. You can check it out here: https://sites.google.com/view/hiddenheritage/home
